It is undoubtedly true and widely-known that the world of live entertainment is changing. Information and communication technology, for example, have triggered a radical transformation in regards to its production methods.
Although adaptation of skills is fundamental in response, a continuous professional training structure for the technicians of live entertainment is still missing.
This is the rationale for Virtual Interactive Programme (VIP), the Leonardo project backed by the Accademia d’Arti e Mestieri dello Spettacolo Teatro alla Scala and conceived in collaboration with IDEA. Based on transnational cooperation among organizations from 5 European countries, VIP focuses on the creation of new development and training models in order to favor assessment and adaptation of directors, scenographers, set and lighting designers according to changing needs in their working environment .
